Plagiarism Policy

The Emerging Innovations Society: Science, Technology, and Social Studies upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. All manuscripts submitted to our journals must be the original work of the authors, free from any form of duplication, fabrication, or unauthorized use of others' work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying another author's work, ideas, figures, or tables without proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing substantial content from other sources without acknowledgment.

  • Submitting someone else’s manuscript as one’s own.

  • Using content from previous publications by the same author(s) (self-plagiarism) without citation or disclosure.

Plagiarism Detection Process

  1. Initial Screening:
All manuscripts are subjected to a plagiarism check using reliable detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) at the time of submission.

  2. Acceptable Similarity Index:

    • A similarity index below 15% (excluding references, quotes, and methodological descriptions) is considered acceptable.

    • Manuscripts with a similarity index between 15% and 25% will be returned to the author for revision and clarification.

    • Manuscripts with similarity above 25% are rejected outright on grounds of suspected plagiarism.

  3. Editorial Action:
    In case of detected plagiarism:

    • The manuscript will be put on hold and the author(s) will be informed.

    • Authors will be asked to provide a valid explanation or to revise the content as necessary.

    • If intentional plagiarism is confirmed, the submission will be rejected, and the author(s) may be blacklisted from future submissions.

Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism is discovered after publication:

  • The article may be retracted from the journal.

  • A notice of plagiarism and retraction will be published on the journal website.

  • The authors’ institution may be informed depending on the severity of the misconduct.

Author Responsibility

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their content. By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that:

  • The manuscript is their original work.

  • All sources and references are properly cited.

  • No part of the manuscript has been plagiarized.
