1. Introduction

Frontiers in Emerging Computer Science and Information Technology (FECSIT) is committed to promoting the wide dissemination of scientific knowledge while protecting the intellectual property rights of authors. The journal follows an Open Access publishing model and applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License to all published articles, enabling the responsible sharing, distribution, and reuse of scholarly research across computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging information technology domains.

This policy outlines copyright ownership, author rights, publishing rights granted to the journal, and the conditions under which published content may be reused, distributed, or reproduced.

2. Copyright Ownership

Authors publishing in Frontiers in Emerging Computer Science and Information Technology (FECSIT) retain full, unrestricted copyright to their scholarly work. Copyright remains entirely with the author(s) after publication, and the journal does not require the transfer or assignment of copyright ownership.

By submitting and publishing their manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The submitted work is completely original and has not been published previously.

  • The manuscript, algorithms, pseudocode, or datasets do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, copyright, or personal rights of any third party.

  • Necessary written permissions have been obtained for any copyrighted material, figures, datasets, proprietary code libraries, or measurement tools included in the manuscript.

3. Author Rights

Authors retain extensive, unrestricted rights over their published work and may, at any time without seeking permission from the publisher:

  • Share the published article and associated open-source code/data through personal, departmental, or institutional websites.

  • Deposit the published version in institutional repositories, software repositories (e.g., GitHub), or subject-specific databases (e.g., arXiv).

  • Share the article through academic networking platforms (e.g., ORCID, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google Scholar, LinkedIn).

  • Reuse figures, tables, system architectures, pseudocode, empirical data, and original text content in future scholarly works, books, or book chapters with appropriate citation.

  • Distribute the article for educational, research, academic, and professional development purposes.

  • Use the published work in theses, dissertations, conference presentations, technical workshops, or teaching materials with proper acknowledgment of the original FECSIT publication.

4. Publishing Rights Granted to the Journal

By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors grant Frontiers in Emerging Computer Science and Information Technology (FECSIT) a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, preserve, and display the accepted work in digital, electronic, and print formats.

This non-exclusive publishing license enables the journal to:

  • Edit, format, copyedit, typeset, and layout the accepted manuscript.

  • Assign a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref to the published Version of Record.

  • Index, archive, and disseminate the published article through the journal website, scholarly databases, search engines, and indexing services while preserving full author copyright ownership.

5. Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0)

All articles published in FECSIT are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. This license promotes the widest possible dissemination and reuse of scholarly research while ensuring that authors receive full academic credit for their work.

Under the CC BY 4.0 License, any user may:

  • Share: Copy, distribute, display, and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt: Remix, transform, translate, build upon, and adapt the material for any lawful purpose, including commercial applications, computational frameworks, and software development.

Mandatory Conditions: Appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s), FECSIT must be cited as the original source of publication, a link to the CC BY 4.0 license must be provided, and any modifications, code translations, or adaptations made must be clearly indicated.

6. Rights of Readers and Users

Researchers, software engineers, educators, data scientists, students, industry specialists, and librarians are free to access and use published articles without subscription, paywalls, or user registration fees.

Users may:

  • Read, search, and download published articles and open datasets free of charge.

  • Share articles through educational, corporate, or research platforms.

  • Reuse figures, algorithmic flowcharts, empirical tables, and text in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 License.

  • Translate or adapt published computer science and IT content with proper academic attribution.

  • Include published articles in institutional repositories, course materials, reading lists, or technical databases.

7. Permissions and Reuse

No additional permission from the publisher or the authors is required to reuse articles published under the CC BY 4.0 License, provided that the license conditions are strictly respected.

When reusing published material, users must:

  • Acknowledge and properly cite the original author(s).

  • Cite the original publication in Frontiers in Emerging Computer Science and Information Technology (FECSIT) with its full article title and active Crossref DOI.

  • Clearly indicate whether any changes, code modifications, or adaptations were made to the original work.

8. Third-Party Material

Authors are solely responsible for obtaining written permissions from original copyright holders to reproduce any third-party material—including copyrighted figures, tables, software libraries, photographs, illustrations, proprietary frameworks, or survey instruments—incorporated into their manuscripts.

Where third-party material is not covered by the journal’s Creative Commons License, users must obtain permission directly from the original copyright holder prior to reuse.

9. Attribution Requirements

Whenever content published in FECSIT is reused, redistributed, adapted, or reproduced, proper academic attribution must be provided. Standard appropriate attribution includes:

  • Name(s) of the original author(s).

  • Title of the published article.

11. Article Processing Charge (APC) & Publishing Sustainability

To support Open Access operations, professional copyediting, layout typesetting, DOI registration through Crossref, permanent digital archiving, and web platform maintenance, FECSIT operates a transparent fee model:

  • Submission and Peer Review Fees: $0 (No charges for submitting or peer-reviewing manuscripts).

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): Applicable only after formal double-blind peer review and editorial acceptance.

  • Waiver Options: Partial or full APC waivers are available for authors facing financial constraints or coming from low-income countries, ensuring that copyright retention and publication access remain universal.

12. Long-Term Digital Preservation

The journal is committed to preserving the long-term accessibility, discoverability, and permanent integrity of the scholarly record. All published articles are hosted on the journal's digital publishing platform and preserved through digital archiving repositories and metadata networks to ensure continuous, uninterrupted global access.

13. Licensing Statement

Unless otherwise indicated, all articles published in Frontiers in Emerging Computer Science and Information Technology (FECSIT) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.
